Memphis Weather

I just thought I'd note that we went from the first booming thunderstorm of 2012 last weekend to the first below-freezing cold snap of 2012 on Thursday, all within a few days of each other. I suspect that doesn't happen very often.

And before I forget, Happy Friday the 13th! (We are watching Friday the 13th Part 2 to celebrate it tonight. As they said on Scream, "Kill, kill, kill, kill... Die, die, die, die...".)

Hello from Memphis!

Having just moved here, Memphis, nestled against the Mississippi River in the southwest corner of Tennessee, is turning out to be a great place to be for our family of two dogs, two cats, and two guys, and I intend to document our experiences in this city through this blog. What better day to start it than on Elvis's birthday? Indeed, me and my husband just got back from visiting Graceland which is open tonight for this reason, and it was beautiful with the Christmas decorations still up. Yes, Memphis has definitely surpassed my expectations for a city in Tennessee in the number of things there are to do and see and the vibrant culture it engenders. More on that soon!
